The Sandy Hook Children and Why It Might Have Had to Happen.....A Wake-Up Call!!

Eventually, GOD has a way of breaking stalemates, crushing road blocks and opening wounds so things can heal--especially when such events lead to a better, more honest and open world. {Now why the earthquake in Haiti had to happen I don't know. Maybe it had to do with the earthquake in Japan and revealing the truth about our world Capitalist and corporate structure.  I don't know...}One thing is for sure, the Liberal / Conservative gridlock over the issue of gun control has held the country at bay for decades.  As one MSNBC commentator said, it has been between Liberals fighting for Gun Control and Conservatives stopping the process, but there has been no movement.  Those 21 little lives, {and the 6 adults} I think, were sacrificed to break the stalemate. It is that important... Can you imagine actually having the job of having to make that decision? {I sometimes call myself GOD, because I feel very powerful in my LOVe for ALL people and for GOD Herself, and because I have reached a certain plateau in my own Spiritual evolution and awakening--but it is NOT a job I want or covet if those are the kind of decisions one has to make in that particular position or job. Wouldn't it be nice if the Good Will and the LOVe in ALL of Humanity were actually charged, in some Way, with the actual JOB of BEING GOD!!! I also say that I am only as much a GOD as everybody else is--it is ALL just a matter of, again, Spiritual Evolution and Spiritual Awakening... You can read more about what I feel about religion and Spirituality on this BLOG...}.

As a Progressive-thinking Black man, a Black Radical and a Black visionary and Fund Raiser, I was about to get all upset about how those children were being cried over because Black children die everyday in Africa from starvation and gun shots {Probably more than 20 a day--GOD Forbid}, but no one seems to give the level or demeanor of public outcry about such events and occurrences. Certainly NOT our Black President, Congress, The Senate or the Supreme Court...   Also hundreds of children with Black skin die every month in the U.S. and the rest of the world for various reasons.  I don't hear a public outcry and I don't see the President getting on TV about this.  But I held my words back, in this regard, and said nothing.  Believe me, I usually would have leaped right into the fray of this particular debate because I have, over the last three years, grown to have a deep kind of  ``Mother Teressa-Styled'' LOVe for the world's children.  Mind you, I have advocated for children for years {about 25 years} and I wrote a book that aims at helping Black youth build better values for themselves, and that took eight years to write. {I still don't have a publisher for that book--``A Grass-Roots Criteria for Liberation: Writing in Wet Cement''.} 

I quietly decided NOT to ``get ALL upset'' about Sandy Hook's children and our Nation's response to the situation for one reason:  If the sacrifice of those children, [and adults]--most if not all of whom were White, will bring about Gun Control for our entire Nation, maybe, just maybe it is understandable what the REAL and ABOVE ALL GOD did here.  But it isn't a decision that I ever, in life could have made without crumbling under the stress of depression--had I personally and consciously had to make such a decision myself.  I don't know how our President makes such decisions such as bombing women and children in Somalia and Pakistan with drone bombs meant for terrorists so-called terrorists cells that is. I would never sleep at night, even knowing that our borders might be safer because of his doing so.

But the sacrifice of the Sandy Hook children may actually save hundreds of thousands of lives over the duration if proper and reasonable gun control laws are passed in this Nation of ours.  {Please take the time to look up www.thebradycampaign.org

and discover what they have been advocating for gun laws for years.  I am sure you can tell the parents of those ``sweet little angels'' those children, about their children dying to improve guns laws  and you might get the back of their hand and a cold stair.  They just wish to GOD they could have their children back.  The Sandy Hook events might also end up doing something substantial about the stigma of, ignorance of and mistreatment of people with mental illness in our Nation as Well. Time will tell.

Getting Help!!!

If you are depressed, angry beyond reason, upset, anxious, down, troubled, concerned or beat down with envy, wanting revenge, unable to forgive someone, or unable to cope with other stressful emotions & feelings; or if you are experiencing stress over a divorce, the loss of a relationship, being unemployed for an extended period, the loss of a loved one, financial losses or if you just feel your world is closing in on you; or if you can’t cope with an addiction to prescription medicines, alcohol, tobacco, illegal street drugs, food, sex, pornography or anything else; or maybe you were beaten up, sexually abused, raped, robbed, foreclosed on, molested or maybe you have lingering thoughts of an incident that is long, long past, but you can’t seem to get past it; or you are unable to cope with other excessive behavioral problems you are having such as hoarding food or household items in your room or house, over eating, excessive and compulsive sexual behaviors and acting out excessively sexually, excessive spending when you know you can’t afford it right now; or if you are experiencing other behavioral, emotional, psychological and / or psychiatric problems; or maybe you just feel at the end of your rope, hopeless and that you have just given up on life and don’t want to do anything to help yourself and are isolating yourself from others—maybe it is time for you to get help. { I want you to remember that getting help in the case of the disenfranchised and oppressed is more a statement about the failures of our society than a statement about any failure on your part. Getting help represents a problem and a serious miscalculation in judgment with our political, economic, judicial and social systems [and that includes Capitalism and Socialism], and how we have been excluded from it than it is any mental or emotional problem that you as an individual are having. I am sure that if you had equal access to the institutions that construct our culture such as being included when they decide what school curriculums will be and being there and included fairly and equally when they decide what will be incorporated into what makes up entire spheres of learning and knowledge such as: Medicine, Anatomy, Math, Engineering, Science, Chemistry, Physics, Horticulture, Advanced Mathematics, Logic, Philosophy, Computer Science, Anthropology, and the many other Technological Sciences, You would see that You don’t have a mental problem, You have just been excluded. With such fair and equal inclusion You will find school, learning and knowledge much more easy to achieve and much more interesting. If You are having trouble adjusting to our society You can start by calling your Pastor, a trusted friend or family member or your general practitioner or Doctor and talking out the problems. He or she may well suggest you see a professional for treatment. It is nothing to be ashamed of. Believe me I know. What you are going through is a lot more common than you might think. What you are doing by getting help is taking the adult tact, the right step and realizing you have a situation and / or a problem that needs more attention than usual... Stop worrying about it and seek help. You are saying: ``I am worth it. And I need help.’’ You are taking on the responsibility like an adult should and moving through whatever is hurting, stopping or crippling your growth as a decent human being. You are saying that you are deserving of help and that you will benefit from that help and move on positively with your life. You are not necessarily mentally ill, but even if you are, you are taking the right steps in getting help. Do it, get the help and watch your life open up like an incredible butterfly or an exotic flower as you take wing into the next stage of your life. I don’t care if you are 89 or 19. Get the help and feel better about yourself for doing so. You will find yourself benefiting greatly from the help such as therapy, proper medical treatment which might include the intervention of psychotropic medicines; or you might find that your life has been closed off physically from others and all you need is to be around people and to get some exercise. Don’t face this with fear, face it with strength and joy knowing you will get the help you need and be able to move forward. Dear Ms. Ross:

I would like to come to California to visit with you and possibly some of your family members. I am ``told’’ that I will have some money soon to be able to afford such a journey. It would be nice for me, but I want to bring a friend along who simply adores you. His name is Robert Mason. He lives in Jersey City, New Jersey and I haven’t seen Him in years. He is a Great Brother who once raised $5,000.00 for His church by simply throwing a lavish Birthday Party for Himself and making it into a Church Concert. The event was replete with Old Show Tunes {Oh, good grief, how Gay!!} and some Gospel Selections. How many regular people do you know of who would do such a thing and then give ALL the money to their Church? I could go on about Robert for a few pages. Let me just say that He has never been happy and lucky with love and relationships, but there is Two People who have been in His life with consistency and who He has never stopped loving—that would be you Miss. Ross--and of course GOD--NOT necessarily in that order.... If I could have lunch with you at your private home, well Robert would be beside Himself—which is something I have been wanting to see for years. In fact, Since we have been friends, I haven’t seen Robert in about 10 years, possibly even much more than that. {We have been friends for about 31 years}... We don’t presently have a car and I have been stuck here in Philadelphia trying to get my books published and My businesses off the ground.... {Before I forget, could you give Maurice Hines a call for me and ask Him to fund the ADODI Film I mentioned in the letter I sent Him? {It is entitled: ``ADODI: --25 Years And Beyond: Claiming the Legacy, Continuing the Legend.'' Directed by Rod Patrick Risbrook.} I know we haven’t met, but this is a film about a Black support group for Same Gender Loving Black men that has an illustrious History, [Adodi that is] of which I am a part. I REALLY want to get that film completed. I only asked Him for $25,000.00. Considering the many, many Blessings that the Good Lord has bestowed on Mr. Hines, I don’t think that is much to ask. Especially because when the film previews in New York we can have a Big Shin Dig and invite Him [Maurice] and really enjoy the evening. I plan to list Mr. Hines as a sponsor of the film. I’m praying He [Mr. Maurice Hines] will agree to fund the project because ADODI has helped me, through process, many, many more times than I will ever even be able to repay or imagine. [It is a support group with chapters in Detroit, New York and Chicago; and one pending here in Philadelphia {where the organization all started under the leadership of One Clifford Rawlins in Circa May, 1986—who is now passed away]. We also have chapters pending in Atlanta, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. I believe—don’t quote me because even though I’m an early member of Adodi, I’m NOT among the leadership right now. At least NOT in an active chapter...] But I’m not writing to talk about Adodi.

I really want to give you some constructive feedback about your life and career and How you have really been a good Mom—which to me is more valuable than any silly old singing / acting career one might have anyway. [Of course for people Like Me, who don't have children, I guess the career is as important as having children to them and maybe GOD looks at it that Way as Well...] Some people out there in California really missed the boat on this one anyway. You didn’t, you didn’t miss the boat I mean… …and no I’m NOT talking about the Titanic. I’m talking about the Boat that GOD is letting people on that leads to being remembered as basically a good person. I simply loved ``Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,’’ and ``Reach Out and Touch Somebody’s Hand,’’ because they are about love and determination—two things I have had to have with determined consistency over the years. Especially since I have TRIED to start my business and get it underway. But the song that literally slapped me on the buns was ``Love Hangover.’’ Its’ obsessive demeanor and heavy beat captivated me from Day One. You sounded so sexy and sultry and you didn’t seem to be ``putting on’’--you were serious about the content of that record. It captivated me. It paid homage to my own sexiness and my own self as a sexual person. I could listen to it a thousand times and never get tired of it. I had it on a regular LP to let you know how far back I go as a fan, but like I said, it is Robert Mason who truly loves you—I am only a slight fan compared to Brother Robert Mason. One of my Best Friends ever. 

So Please let me know if us two city cats can come out to mumbo jumbo with you and your family. I would be very interested in meeting with Tracey Ross [who starred in ``Girlfriends'' ] and your son who starred in ``Mooz-lum,'' Mr. Evan Ross. {I saw that movie and thought his serious and somewhat disturbed characterization of the main character was superb for such a young actor.} [By the way, if you haven’t seen Denzel Washington in ``Flight’’ you just have to see it. It is the best, most socially important movie He has ever made. I think it is even more important a film than ``Malcolm X’’ was because it deals with inner struggle—and I know from experience that this is of the utmost importance to many, many people including so-called oppressed people such as many Black and Latin people and also poor people of ALL races, colors and ethnic backgrounds and religious backgrounds, and others who deal with denial and addiction. We are great for covering up the truth here in North America. ``Flight,’’ rips off an unhealed scab and makes us look at the sores that are not so pretty. A ``reality event’’ that is really, really needed….

Something tells me I want to talk about you a bit more and then about my books. [I HAVE to close with a word about GOD because I DO want to wake up tomorrow. You know She really doesn't HAVE to wake US up.]  I’m having trouble getting My books published. I think there was a lot of glamour and glitter surrounding you when you were very young. This is not an easy thing. Especially when some of the people surrounding you were not taking your best considerations at heart, but were, in fact, taking most of your money and putting it directly into their own pockets. {You know ALL about that, now don't you Ms. Ross?} I won’t mention Berry Gordy’s name by first and last name, but I think you know who I’m talking about. [We have some of the same situations going on here in Philadelphia where our one and only Kenny Gamble of Philadelphia International Records is rumored to actually be a Republican and also said to NOT have paid many of his musicians good and proper wages BACK WHEN HE MADE ALL THOSE hits LIKE ``Ship A' Hoy,'' for the O' Jays and the HITS for Mother, Father, Sister Brother... Those orchestrations were sublime. And that goes Way back some time now. I haven’t spoken to him, so I don’t know all the details first hand. I don’t know how he did with paying proper wages to the many stars he created. But I have heard talk that many, many people were never paid correctly. I find that to be a real shame...If it is true, if it is NOT true, I pray Mr. Gamble Will forgive Me...].....

But back to you Miss Ross. I never understood why you didn’t do more movies, until I saw you profiled with many of your family members on a tv special. You wanted to spend your valuable time raising your family. This is a good and commendable thing and something I don’t think you will ever regret. So many star-powered Mothers and Dads take too much time away from family duties and leave the raising of the children to others who just don’t have the ego involvement and tender care qualities to be able to do the job correctly, properly and with due diligence and consistency..... And I think parenting is the MOST important job anyone In the world could ever have… [Not to harp on the Bushes, but we should have known something was wrong when their daughters were such misbehaving ingrates… I’m not here to judge, I'm just presenting the facts—OK, I do judge from time to time also. {If you know me you know that trying NOT to judge others is like trying to keep your fingers out of the sweetest cake batter in the world, for me}]… It is very hard for me, but I judge Myself equally harshly so I hope things balance out.... The fact that you took so much time with your family is magnificent and will pay off for your wonderful children in a multitude of Ways for quite some time, if not for the rest of their lives. I know the entertainment business is NOT an easy thing—there is always someone waiting in the wings for you to fail, make a fool of yourself and NOT get that award you wanted or that job you wanted.

We need to be about creating a more Progressive Entertainment division that is ``People of Color’’ owned, {Mostly Black and Latin}, Progressive in demeanor and political persuasion and open to people who have good ideas, positive characters they want to share with the world and hearts and minds full of good ethical values. It would be nice to create such characters in modern times and discover that we don’t need to go back 2000 years to the Old Testament of the Bible to find salvation, save souls and reach people in a Positive Way. I don’t think such a business creation is impossible.  In fact, I  know it is possible, it is just finding people with open hearts and caring and thoughtful minds. IT is not as hard as I have made it seem.  I have had a great deal of difficulty, but I know many others who have NOT had such trouble and difficulty connecting with Progressives who want to invest. 

On a personal note, while I truly feel that marrying whoever a person wants to marry is certainly reasonable and best in a pluralistic society such as the one we live in, I also feel that marrying White males should be reserved for the White males who are of the highest quality and ethical truths and values. I see some Black males with White women who are NOT the best women, no matter what color they are. I never met either of your husbands, but I sure liked you paired with Billy Dee Williams in ``Lady Sings the Blues,'' and ``Mahogany.'' You two were an on-screen dynamic duo. You should have given us a Tracy and Hepburn phenomenon and did maybe another six films together.  I was disturbed when you crossed the color line in your personal life, but that may well have been my own racism and my own prejudice clicking in. These are certainly personal choices and decisions that people have every right to make. {I have worked through my own prejudice ideas for years with therapy and self-teaching, and although I have White friends, I also know the cultural and ethnic Spirit root of people and how they differ along racial lines. This cannot be denied or refuted. It has been proven by many writers, researchers and anthropologists. You should read some of the books by Doctor Malefi Asante and discover for yourself what I’m talking about. There is also a fantastic book called ``African World Revolution,'' By Historian John H. Clarke that you really MUST take the time to read.  It is a life-changing book for Africans to read...  } At the same time, look at the beautiful nature those White men left you in the form of your children. Maybe GOD knows what She is doing!!!

I am still seething inside about how you did not win the Oscar for ``Lady Sings the Blues.'' {Now, that shows what a fool I am to still be mad and unforgiving after what, forty years? SILLY!!!} It would be a wonderful idea if the Academy gave you an award for your role in ``Lady Sings the Blues,'' even though they skipped you the first time out. I thought at the time that this was racism pure and simple.  It is something I have never been able to let go of. You were far beyond superb that year in that particular film and the powers that be in Hollywood would have recognized that if you were a White actress. The fact that you were NOT recognized and then soon after that stopped making movies all together has always been a thorn in my proverbial side. I probably need to let that go more than you do, because you have most of what you want and have had a very good and rewarding life, I am sure. Then when they [The Hollywood Types] blamed your movie ``The Whiz,’’ for box office poison and curtailed the Black Film era--known as the Black Exploitation Era in Hollywood--``because'' of  ``the Whiz's'' failure at the box office--well it just all became too much to deal with for Me. But as you know, the backbiting and negativity on the Hollywood scene is just part of the scene there. If YOU have forgiven them, deep, deep down inside, I guess that will do for me. 

To end this letter I want to talk about a concept for shopping that I have created called ``The Knowledge Hut Stores.''  This Progressive concept is to have an on-line store that caters to the youth market, but that ONLY sells them products that are of merit and high ethical value such as DVD's that teach an ethical lesson or bring up self-esteem standards; CD's that do the same and don't include racist, sexist, homophobic lyrics; posters of African American and Latin and White Progressive Sheroes and Heroes; books about Black, Latin and Progressive White history--accurate History, and other topics that will build good solid human values, humanity, a good Spirit, and Great character traits and Positive values such as responsibility, obeying the law, staying in school and achieving in school, listening to parents, guardians and grandparents when they are correct and hearing out responsible peers. Other such values need be explored also.  We also MUST find good books and videos that teach other ethical values such as being against bullying, and working through problems by problem solving and crisis intervention instead of getting physically violent, copping an attitude and being negative.  We also want to have access to good social and psychiatric references for any student or youth that might be having trouble adjusting.  We are starting this as an on-line store, but I think the concept will grow steadily over time.  I have an Executive Summary about this and the costs that I think you will be interested in reading.

Post Script: I have to say one other thing: That is the part about the other ``person'' that Robert Mason respects and loves, more even than you and that would be GOD Herself.  I am putting Her last, because it says in the Bible that the Last Will Be First and I can thing of no greater entity than Her to go first than GOD Herself. I am sure I don't need to aggrandize on and on about how Great GOD is, but I Will say that GOD is in ALL the GOOD things we do and ALL the correct and loving things we do. When we say GOD is Busy, active and Alive--that is how She is busy, active and alive. She works through people.  If we keep destroying each other we keep destroying GOD.  When we love each other we LOVE and pay respect to GOD. I suggest we ALL keep Her happy because otherwise, well She doesn't always play fair when it comes to socking the people She doesn't like out of the BOX--so we need to listen up, go to church or Mosque or Synagogue, or where ever we worship, and make sure we Give Her the honor and props She needs and deserves.  Robert Mason may not have been lucky at love, but He is a man who REALLY LOVES GOD!!!!      

Tami Roman's Brave Story of Abuse

She is a woman heavily featured on the reality tv show ``Basketball Wives.'' And she was getting a little outrageous with her behavior.  As it turned out, she had a story of being sexually abused.. It happened a few times when she was 8 {EIGHT} years old and again when she was 21.  The events when she was eight were ``only'' touching and fondling, but because of her young age--they were especially devastating and caused her to lash out at family members later in life.  When she was 21 years old, she was carjacked and raped repeatedly in a warehouse.  This is what really brought on the pain, resentment and the incredible anger level that was reflected in the tv show ``Basketball Wives.'' Such was revealed in an article by Tami Roman in ``Real Health'' a guide to Black wellness.

North America Has an Addiction to War, Guns, Violence.... that MUST STOP

Any time another country raises a finger to even question a political, economic or a military move by Our government {The United States of America} we are ready to beg our leaders to move in with massive amounts of weaponry and make the ``BASTARDS'' shut up and fall into line with North American policy.  At least that WAS the idea in many Americans' heads, especially White male conservatives. But they were soundly defeated at the polls on November 6th, 2012. This old formation of gunboat diplomacy has had its' day and is old hat and out of date.  More people on the international scene and more people in our own country of North America are beginning to say--we are just another country and need to adhere to international standards, international law and universally held dictum's that regulate the policy's of Nations such as U.N. standards and policies held through the Geneva convention.  Maybe we don't need to be the policemen of the world, but actually BE policed by the world for some of the high crimes and misdemeanors we have committed in the name of National Security, territorial Rights to water ways and airspace..... We have used military aggression in many, many different formations including: overt military insurgencies and operations; overt military attacks; political assassination; stealth bombings; and overt bombing raids; kidnappings; torture; covert actions and covert operations; espionage; para-military attacks; underhanded economic manipulation; the undue and covert manipulation of foreign currencies in foreign countries; spying of  North Americans abroad and domestically; assassination of North Americans and foreigners in foreign lands; illegal and undue economic embargo of our geographic neighbors such as Cuba; domestic and foreign wiretapping; support of terrorist cells and terrorists operations in other countries and other illegal and un-called for actions that undermine our democracy and turn a blind eye to the true meaning of our Constitution as our Forefathers intended it to be.

But the reason I'm writing this article today is to express my concern for and my abhorrence at the concept of ``America, Love it or Leave it.'' My contention is that EVERY PERSON living on our globe has the right to not only be in North America, but to have their voice heard loudly concerning what they think and feel should be the guiding policies of Our Nation... They have a duty as people of the world to express a valued and clear opinion about what U.S. policy should be in my opinion.  I say this because the United States has been and continues to be in all corners of the world seeking out political and economic opportunities for the Oligarchy, the rich business owners and the wealthiest of North Americans and her allies. This economic exploitative process is done through the military formations and military tactics I listed above and several others. so-called foreigners are some of the most exploited people on the globe, especially in Africa, East India, China and South Korea and they are exploited largely by White North American business owners. These gentelmen have been job creators, but they have NOT been good job creators. They have created low-paying jobs with often dangerous working conditions and no or little benefits. These foreign workers have made the oligarchy richer and richer and these so-called ``patriotic'' business owners have destroyed the fabric of North American life by throwing literally millions of people out of work in favor of the cheaper labor of the foreign workers. This policy has destabilized state and local governments who have seen their tax bases shrink and educational systems, like the one in Philadelphia that depends on local school taxes to hire teachers, buy books, pay for running hundreds of buildings and so forth, have also seen their bottom lines fall apart as wages are cut at home and more and more people were thrown out of work over the last 30 years. This is why I say these super-exploited foreign workers should be comin' to America looking for their pound of flesh after they have been exploited and had their own country sucked dry as the barracudas of traditional Capitalism used every mechanism, including militarism, to exploit so-called foreigners.    Our foreign policy is deeply connected to and entrenched with the existence of the military industrial complex and the profitability of same. Our foreign policy continues to cost us billions and billions of dollars in military costs, support for the military and the continued operations of the Pentagon. the FBI, the CIA,  and the National Security Office among others... {Remember that each and every arm of the U.S. military has its' own so-called intelligence agency at a cost of billions to taxpayers each year also.} AND THEY WONDER WHY WE CAN'T PAY OUR BILLS FOR REBUILDING ROADS AND BRIDGES? None of this stuff is new and I will include here some books that will help the curious reader find out more on these subjects. 

      How we got to be the World's Policemen and how a good percentage of our people actually relish seeing us in that role, I will have to do the research to find out and understand mo better.  I DO know that President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us just before he left office, that we had better watch out concerning the formation and support of the Military / Industrial Complex and its' expansion.  I DO know that all this is connected to the billions of dollars corporations like DOW Chemical, General Electric, Boeing, Lockheed and Westinghouse are making billions and billions of dollars by keeping Washington's War Machine fine tuned and running well, be it in the RED.

     The vast array of government facilities and personnel involved in maintaining the military / industrial Complex has far reaching powers to spy, upend regimes that we envision as hostile, and assassinate persons we see as trouble makers from every vantage point in the world.  So when a single person or a group of people takes on the role of exposing these facts to the North American public they become a threat themselves.  But it is work that must be done.

The crux of this short article is three fold: 1} To examine a need for a much greater, and more public process for gaining access to the formation of the creation of North American Public Policy and look at why more North Americans need this access to public policy creation on a more regular basis. {I feel the sharing of such information will move our democratic process ahead towards becoming more people-oriented, people-friendly, open, rooted in justice and truly free. [This is why I call Bradly Manning a ``hero'' not an information terrorist, as some conservative policy wonks would have us believe.]

2} {The plebiscite can provide much greater use of our process of open voting in a more powerful Way by using the vote not just for the election of candidates,and office-holders, but also by voting up or down on actual public policy measures that, if agreed upon by a majority of the public, MUST be enacted into law and carried out by the government at ALL levels. [I must point out here, however, that the plebiscite process must come with a much greater access to the public media by grass-roots political concerns and organizations who can and Will be able to reach over and gain access to discourse in the public media and have their views and opinions heard consistently, loudly and clearly.  The same old three talking heads on the same old major Sunday morning tv Programs is NOT and has never worked for giving true access to our leadership and full public discourse to the general public and the grass roots so that different points of view and a deeper examination of U.S. policy can take place in a consistant fashion...} Fund Raising...       

3} The other point of this article is that there needs to be a dismantling of much of the military / industrial complex as it relates to the sustainability of war and other outmoded and or technologically advanced aggressive actions {some of which were addressed above}; and there needs to be a discourse and a challenge to the way our government policies use violence to get its way at home and abroad.

3}Violence on the streets at home {and in our prison system} and the violence we support around the world through the military as a Nation is related and should tell us ALL that we need to work towards PEACE AND FREEDOM AT HOME AND ABROAD and when things like the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut that occurred a few days ago happen, we should begin to understand how important human life is. But I'm not just talkin bout the human life of people who are like us, but ALL human life--the Human life of Homeless People, the Human Life of the Native Americans, the Human Life of the Black Americans, the human lives of the poor, the Human Life of the disenfranchised, the Human Life of the mentally and physically deficient {Or what writer / Spiritualist / Self Help Guru Iyanla Vanzant calls ``the differently abled''} and ALL the other races and cultures on the planet including the White and European races and the Latin People as well.

     There has been yet another rampage of gun violence in Colorado {And now Connecticut}. This time in a crowded movie theater at a ``Batman'' Premier. {This time actually at an elementary school} Does this all sound too familiar??? I won't go into the details. Suffice it to say, if we as Black people gave just $5.00 a year to either the www.BradyCampaign.Org
or started our own anti-gun advocacy group {There may be one, I haven't done the research as yet}..... We could make the National Rifle Association {NRA} a thing of a past or at least an organization that is basically a Toothless Tiger because we would, as a people, be armed with the truth about what the facts are on this issue. {Progressives Whites and people of all colours who are Progressive need to support reasonable gun control and reasonable gun laws as Well}... The endless violence that occurs in our country is shameful and it wouldn't have to happen if we stood up and did something about it besides read the horrible news in the papers and went back to work the next day. I will give my $2.00 to the Brady Campaign in January {2013}, when my budget will allow it. What are you going to do? If 200,000 Black people just gave $2.00 once in their lives, that would be $400,000.00. Believe me the Brady Campaign People could do a great deal of work with that kind of money. They could: advocate for better fairer gun laws; actually get positive and progressive legislation passed; and pay for a positive ad campaign to bring up the level of public awareness. I am too lazy to do the research to find out if there is a Black group that works on researching Gun Laws for Black people, so let me know if you hear of any.
