new museum to draw thousands to Philadelphia

Cynthia Wesley; Addie Mae Collins; Denise McNair & Carole Robertson.

Above are the four Little Girls killed in the 16th Street Baptist Church during the 1960’s Civil Rights movement.

4- Little Girls to be remembered at ½ a floor at 18th & Vine Street the ole Family Court Building. The rest of the four-story building is to be utilized as a Black Inventor’s Museum. The following people – mentioned below  --  have agreed to help pay for the renovations, grand-opening reception, invitations to the public, invitations to others, food for the opening reception, media promotions, office furniture, special display cases, and special exhibits, etc.… . I spoke to some Black librarians [ three ] and two of them felt the idea was sound & more acceptable than having another white-owned hotel at that location.  One also said to have enough money to keep the location maintained properly, with full staffing and a curator. I, personally, would also like there to be a full cafeteria [ with plenty of healthy food and drink choices for the attending public & employees] , plenty of well-cleaned & well-attended restrooms, a coat check location, & space for offices for museum-related work and administrators, office workers, clerks, etc.

Considering the way Black hotels & BLACK apartment developers have been largely shut out of the market in Philadelphia [ something that has changed, but not enough ] , red lined & discriminated against, I want to know what your opinion is. This e-mail will be sent as an open letter on my blog  & as an e-mail message by November 1, 2018 Friday…
