Southwest Philadelphia--The Step Child of the City.....

The Step Child of the CIty -- South West Philadelphia...

By Brother Tracy Gibson

No body ever talks about it much. No body wants to admit how She is suffering. People would rather ignore Southwest Philadelphia and Her issues and concerns because there is little hope there and little concerted and consistent effort on the part of the social, economic, religious and political establishment to do ANYTHING to help Southwest Philadelphia--a section of the city that we mentally sweep under the rug each day. I'm pulling the rug back and looking at how to heal this community.

There are very few stores and unemployment is probably higher here than it is in ALL the other sections of the City including even North Philadelphia.  But Southwest Philadelphia has children and teens living there who need to be nurtured, cared for and loved properly just like other sections of the City including Central City and West Philadelphia.  My late father was a Real Estate investor and a landlord.  He always said ``Location, Location, Location,'' when he was in the market to select a new property to buy and he would never, ever think about buying property in what is perceived of as a destitute, lonely, poor and isolated section of the City such as Southwest Philadelphia.

My real and present concern is how do we, as investors and concerned North Americans and concerned and caring Philadelphians, start a process to refurbish and rebuild Southwest Philadelphia and offer hope, jobs and decent livelihoods, good schools and other opportunities to these people {our People} without displacing and economically destabilizing this oppressed and historic neighborhood? How does that happen? I will be doing the research and writing to find out just how to answer this question.

I don't think even the Philadelphia Police look forward to being assigned to Southwest Philadelphia.  But, there are thousands of people in Southwest Philadelphia who like many of us, are struggling to make it through school and university; make it to a job that doesn't pay enough; or make something healthy for dinner.  These people often live in deplorable and depressing conditions and have to fend for themselves against great odds.  They are often the first fired and the last hired and the first to come up against a hostile criminal justice system.  They often have to decide between clothing, food and medicine--and often have to do without basic necessities we often take for granted.

They also have the problems that many of us face--no place to buy nutritious foods at a good price; no decent movie theaters; no reasonably-priced vibrant and lively restaurants to choose from; no theater to speak of; and only a few failing schools and out-of-date community centers to attend important meetings, gatherings and social and political events at.

Maybe I'm wrong, and I'm hoping someone will write and tell me, if I am, but I want to know more about Southwest Philadelphia and I' hope any of you who live there and want to tell these stories, will send me an e-mail so I might start researching and writing on the subject of Southwest Philadelphia and how to change Her into another vibrant, thriving section of the city without displacing the crucial indigenous people who have lived, worked, and purchased items there for generations.

This section of the City needs life and attention and financial investment more than just about any other section.  Why open another store or restaurant in Central City when there is such need right under our noses? Write me at BLockBoi75@Yahoo.Com

If the People of Southwest want to start to pull themselves up economically they have little opportunities to do so because there are so few viable and profitable stores owned by the most oppressed in he community.  They need OUR help. If you know of any people in Southwest--that is the area emanating from 56th and Elm wood Street--please let me know. I promise to do a series of articles on Southwest's most dedicated and successful social activists if I can get hold of some of them.  Also, I promise to advocate for this section of the city in other ways as well, such as talking with and meeting with the area's politicians, business leaders, civic leaders and religious leaders to make things better for Southwest and Her people.  I KNOW there are some dedicated and successful social activists in this area.  If you know some of the community groups in the area or some of the names of politicians and religious leaders there--PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I CAN BE REACHED AT: 1-215-471-64.94.   MORE TO COME!!!

Letter to Tuskeegee Institute of North America.....

TO: Tuskegee University
1200 West Montgomery Road
Tuskegee Institute
Alabama  36088

Dear Administrators, Faculty and Student Body at Tuskegee Institute:

I am a Black man who is very concerned about OUR Black youth and their future.  I have written a book dedicated to advancing Black youth in their struggle to free themselves from the corrupting influences and decaying ethics of our North American society.  I also have a business idea that I will tell you more about here.
But what I want to tell you about most today is not a young man or a young person at all, but a man who left this stage of life on July 10th of this year {2012}. That man was 85 years old and He was a my father, Mr. Charles Saint Clair Gibson.  He was a dedicated father, uncle, grandfather, husband, teacher, landlord and family man who was much respected in his community. He loved life and a good cold beer once in a while, but most of all he loved construction and remodeling houses, and being a landlord. He also loved Ario-space Technology and aviation. He worked for 13 years at General Electric Re-Entry Systems {30th and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia} and retired from there with many commendations and awards{See Obit enclosed, or on other section of this Blog}...
What I wanted to talk to you about today is making a small donation of $25.00 to Tuskegee Institute, in his name. {You can use the money for whatever reason you wise gentlemen and wise gentle ladies see fit}. But I also wanted to ask you if there are any discussions, plans of actions to reignite or re- institute the aviation technologies and aviation curriculum and such that originally gave birth and rise to the Tuskegee Airmen and their heroic exploits during World War II?  These exploits were recently depicted in the major American movie ``Red Tails.''   I would like to help you fund raise for just such efforts and--if at all possible--set up a plan in my Father's name for such fund raising.  {He never attended Tuskegee Institute, but had great respect and honor for the Tuskegee Airmen.}
I have enclosed a resume that details the high level of community involvement I have been involved in and my deep dedication to Black youth. While I am NOT military, I am pretty good at raising funds and really enjoy helping positive Black Institutions--especially those dedicated to education.  I hope you will be in touch with me in the near future to let me know how I can get involved with raising funds for Tuskegee Institute very soon.  Please also enlighten me as to how I can get more info as to what is being done to retain all the necessary personnel and reignite government and corporate interests in restarting the Tuskegee Airmen {and probably airwomen this time} program at Tuskegee Institute.
Peace and Blessings,

What I said at My Father's Funeral.....

To Come Very Soon.....

A Letter to My Pastor.....

I was thinking about the concept of perfection after I head a lecture by you recently.  GOD only knows what He perceives of as perfection--we have no idea, really, what perfection is because we as humans are imperfect.  If GOD has selected one or a few of us for a special place in the struggle for human decency, we might not be able to see that person's perfectness or Godliness, because we only can see through human eyes.    Suffice it to say, that we all need to be working towards the betterment of the human condition--because things are really messed up right about now.  We are, as theologians, thinkers, and thespians, and poets, too caught up on semantics....  We MUST be about the work at creating a movement that can be self sustaining for future generations, building revolutionary and progressive institutions and maintaining our movement financially.  Worry about who is perfect and who is not is a misuse of time, energy and thought processes.  The underline article is on my blog: it is a message to writers, but it applies to others as well.  If you want to log into my blog you can do so by going into: Google: and inputting: Brother Tracy Gibson:  and clicking on ``The Politics of Real'' Look under there and read ``The Powerful Third Eye'' and ``The Knowledge Hut Business Plan''

By the way: I don't think I am any smarter than you or that I can't receive correction and instruction.  I enjoy the banter and back and forth with you and I hope I have NOT been too brass or to bold with my observations, comments and opinions....  I think you are a great leader for our community; a great thinker; extremely articulate; a fantastic role model; and a kind, loving a decent human being.  I also think you are a humanitarian and I think that is a great complement and a great thing to be called.  I am NOT just sucking up or patting you on the back.  I am deeply appreciative for your being with the church--my church--our church.  And I very, very deeply love all members of the church--especially the ones who are NOT PERFECT like I'm not.  When I said I am GOD in one of the articles I wrote, I have to admit that I feel I have been chosen, tested and tried for the things I have done...  I will continue on the path I am on and I will continue to advocate for our people, the oppressed and the exploited.  I DO think in terms of being a victim, and that is something I am working very hard to correct.  I have, as you know, been in therapy for over 35 years.... It has not been an easy struggle. NOW I want to flourish, grow and get things working for now and for the future.  I will need your help and the help of the entire church.  I don't want to be or be perceived as a threat, an outsider or an agitator.  I want to help the process be more freeing, more revolutionary and more about our eventual liberation as a human race--not only Black people but ALL of humanity on every continent.  But especially Our African Diaspora.

GOD Bless You....

Brother Tracy Gibson.....

Post Script: I will be sending you the article: ``A Message to Writers'' in another E-mail.....

What to Eat to Avoid Cancer and Live a Healthy Life...

Stay OUT of the Fast Food Joints... Such as McDonald's, Pop Eye's Chicken, KFC, Burger King, Golden Bird, Churches,  and Wendy's.... If you have to eat at a Fast Food place, use a vegetarian place or a place that serves salads.  Worse come to Worse, use ``Sub Way and get a veggie hoagie, with honey mustard sauce instead of mayo. DO NOT USE MAYONNAISE.... Do not eat lunch meats with pork in them. Order a veggie delight or a veggie hoggie on wheat or rye or oat bread. {These are my personal suggestions}.....

Read the book: `` Foods That Combat Cancer:

The Nutritional Way to Wellness''

By Maggie Greenwood-Robinson, Ph. D.

Using this book as a resource I found that it is best to:

* Use Olive Oil instead of  butter or margarine....

* Avoid Red Meat...

* Avoid other fats in foods such as ice cream {Eat frozen yogurt instead}

* Broil or Bake your foods instead of frying them in vegetable oils, butter or lard.

* Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables regularly.

*Eat Plenty of Brussels Sprouts.

*Cut back of Fried Chicken and French Fries.

*Watch intake of foods such as White breads, White Rice, White Potatoes and sugar cookies or any kind of cake that includes White Flour or butter and sugar.

*Eat plenty of Fiber foods such as whole grains, brown rice and such.

* Snack on fruits, dried fruits and nuts as well as and raw vegetables.

*Eat extra fiber foods for cereal in the morning.

 * Other Foods to eat: red-beans, black beans, soaked fresh or in cans. Kellogg Raisin Bran, Shredded Wheat, Dried Pears, raw blueberries, dried Figs, Avocados, All-Brand with fiber or extra fiber, {Kellogg...}... Please read the other article on this Blog about eating better under ``What to Eat and What NOT to Eat.....''  If you DO eat some of the ``Forbidden Foods'' please eat them in moderation.  What you do can actually cut down on the cost of health care for the entire Nation and for you as a consumer of Health Care and especially as a small business owner.

Black is Making a Come-Back in Philadelphia.....

2427 York Street is making a come back as a place for 24-hour-a day legal, business and merchant activity. This facility is designed to help stabilize the Black neighborhoods in Philadelphia by providing a fish farm; printing center; business and technology center; a commercial kitchen and meeting and dining facilities. The facility is designed to bring a better healthier atmosphere for our families and children and is owned by Original People United & Restored {O.U.R.}.  There is also a plan to create cross-generational teaching for elders and youth.  If you would like more information about this please call 1.702.722.3178.

Positive Image Newspapeer..... Something Positive for the Community.....

There is a newspaper available that is a very uplifting and positive perspective for US to read.  IT is called Positive Image Newspaper.  They are located at: 1253 East Sydney Street; Philadelphia, Penn  19150.  There phone number is: {TO Come}  I strongly suggest that if you are a Philadelphia area businessman like I am that you advertise in the paper because they reach a good section of positive thinking Black people who want to see progressive change and who have the disposable income to make that change.

I Highly Recommend Ron's Caribbean Cuisine.. at 5726 North Broad Street {Near Chompost Street}

I haven't eaten there as yet, but I highly recommend Ron's Caribbean Cuisine at 5726 North Broad Street in North Philadelphia / German town Section.  When I was walking by looking for alternatives to McDonald's, I found a line almost out the door.  Something tells me this place is a hidden gem for us food lovers, and it is right near a McDonald's, so don't tell me you can't find a Black alternative to the stuff they call food at McDonald's--here is one right here near Compost and Broad.....I plan to get me some of dem Chicken Fingers, Rice and Peas, and Curry shrimp the next time I'm near there to see my good buddy Lawrence Williams, who lives right around the corner..... We will be on our way to the League Meeting on Saturday at 1 P.M.  Take care and remember to eat well, but always have your veggies, fruits and watch the fried foods and butter.......

Letter to Quency Jones...

September 26th, 2012 {Wednesday}

Mr. Quency Jone's
Listen Up Foundation
3800 Barham Blvd.
Los Angeles California  90068
From: Brother Tracy Gibson
213 South 49th Street
Philadelphia, Penn 19139-4205

BLockBoi75@Yahoo.Com

Dear Brother Jones:

I hope you and your family are doing fine and well. I hear your daughter has a new movie coming out. I plan to see it, if finances allow. I want to make some suggestions for your corporation and your Foundation to invest in. My Corporation which is called ``Brother Tracy Gibson and Associates, INc.'' There are four components I am interested in getting funding for. 1} I have two books I Really, Really want to publish. The first book is entitled: ``A Grassroots Criteria for Liberation.'' This volume is dedicated to Black youth and there issues. It also relates to Latin youth and any other poor, disenfranchised and or poor youth who need direction, help in thinking more clearly and a better attitude about life. It is designed to build better values in our young men and women including more responsibility for the decisions they make; more respect for the people in the community including peers, the elderly, their parents, teachers, guardians, police and firemen; more dignity about themselves; more interests in Black history and Blacks in antiquity; more interests in business and finance; more interests in education and learning and starting businesses, etc. This first volume is designed and told by telling my own personal story and interjecting political analysis and old family stories with life-lessons, celebrity profiles and reviews of artistic events are included. I need $20,000.00 to get this book published. The second volume is entitled: ``Let the Children Gather--A Fantasy World of Real Life Poems.'' It is a book of poetry that reflects the high level of anger, frustration and resentment that is ramped among Black male youth at being blocked out of the economic and financial progress they see going on in their community and at seeing what little progress they are allowed to make often be suppressed, stolen and or ignored. I need $15,000.00 to publish this book. 2} I want to start a mostly Black, but partially multi-cultural security firm to help protect the growing and valued Black infrastructure across North America, but especially right here in West Philadelphia and North Philadelphia. I am in contact with a Miss Stephanie White who has a successful security company in Dallas, Texas {1.469.230.1849} Address: Post Office Box 181947, Dallas Texas 75218. I have also been in touch with a Mr. August Scott of Brooklyn, New York who worked several years for the Metropolitan Museum of Art as a security guard. I plan to hire both of them as consultants as I begin the process to start my own local security firm. You may know the story from the 1920's in Tulsa, Oklahoma where what was called the ``BLACK WALL STREET'' was destroyed after a racial incident sparked a White Supremest Riot. We cannot afford to have our valuable Black infrastructure destroyed in a matter of days when it took us 50 years to built it up Not only were some 350 people killed, but hotels, restaurants, large stores, funeral homes and other types of businesses owned and operated by Black people were also destroyed and burned to the ground. We need $150,000.00 in seed money for our security firm to be centered and headquartered in Philadelphia. We plan to hire former police officers, firemen and fire women, veterans coming back from the two wars our Nation has been involved in and young people who desperately need full-time and part-time employment in the Philadelphia region. We will have training in Philadelphia and a full, state of the art, Green, environmentally friendly building for our headquarters. 3} Another aspect of our corporation is called ``The Knowledge Hut Business Plan and The Knowledge Hut On-Line Store.'' This store will provide CD's, DVD's, Movies, Tee-Shirts, Greeting Cards, Posters, Books and a few light and healthy snack foods for young people to purchase and for their parents and guardians to buy for them and sometimes, to enjoy for themselves. Grandchildren, nieces, youth, children, cousins, second cousins and nephews will find delight in the products and will also be gaining an education in the strong values and ethics that are so lacking in our communities. The ONLY Products to be sold in our stores will be those products that uphold high community standards and values; represent positive social values and positive knowledge and understanding of complex political issues. The products will not just be thrown at our young customers, our parents and grand parents and guardians, but will be specifically selected to build, again, positive values in our people's youths such as responsibility, reliability, punctuality, obeying the law, business ethics, not to bully or smoke, how to start businesses in a hostile and tough economy and a tough business environment, and how to negotiate out of problems instead of using violence and intimidation to solve problems--a lesson our own national government and many other corporations could use to learn. Many of the products we are planning to sell we will produce at our own factory and hire some of the youth to get paid good living wages for their efforts. {We are starting as an on-line store to avoid the tremendous cost of building a modern, state of the art, Green factory right in North or West Philadelphia at first, but we don't think it will take too long before our dreams come to life and our hard work pays off.} We did test marketing of greeting cards and Tee-Shirts from April 2006 to September of 2007 at 3819 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, Penn 19104, when we had an office here in Philadelphia's Powelton Village Section. We will be Progressive and stress education and knowledge building in every aspect of what we do. Our whole corporate effort is aimed at helping stabilize and support our youth. Our Books will not be selected to titillate and sexually excite {such books will not be sold by us}, but our Books will be selected to educate, inform, build self-help and self-survival skills as well as build self-esteem, self-respect, family values and other positive traits for the Black Family to build from. They will also help stimulate intellectual growth while helping develop good study habits, good hygiene and neighbor-building skills as our young people learn how to get along with other races, other religions and other types of people who are different from them. We are seeking $450,000.00 for ``The Knowledge Hut Business Plan'' and ``The Knowledge Hut Stores.''  {You can see our full Business Plan by going to Google: inputting Brother Tracy Gibson: and clicking on ``The Politics of Real'' This is my Blog.  You will see a section that says ``The Knowledge Hut Business Plan''  4} Another component we are planning is our Talent Agency--NOT YET NAMED... I remember once taking a tenant {I have been a Landlord and Property Owner and Property Manager for 28 years}. I took a tenant to try-out for an International Star-Search Program and fond a line wrapped around the Hotel on City Line Avenue for 4 blocks!! I have people in my church and in the Black community who I know who want to partner with me for this aspects of the business. My church's name is The Unity Fellowship Christ Church of Philadelphia, which is part of a network of some 30 churches across the country. I have family members who work in the entertainment business who I am sure will also help with consulting on this matter.

That is it in a nutshell!!  I hope you can help. I have some 35 years of dedicated work behind me as a community organizer and a community activist. {Please see my Resume (Under Brother Tracy Gibson's Resume) enclosed or on the Blog--``The Politics of Real''

My Corporate EIN number is 27-0145705

I have contacted several Billionaires about my ideas including: Warren Buffett and George Sorros.... But neither of them have contacted me as yet. I hope you will give me a chance, because what I want to do will work towards the betterment of our entire country in the long run, as our Black youth stop being seen as the major ``problem'' and start to live active, productive, viable and proactive lives. The more we do to help them be viable and productive on the front end, the less we will have to spend on the back end for prison space, food and shelter in the court system, detention homes and the prison system.  I thank you for your consideration.

Post Script: I deeply appreciate the work you have done and continue to do through the various programs you have founded and supported such as ``PROJECT Q,'' The Debt relief programs for Third World Countries, ``The We Are THE World'' Project, and many others.  You through your efforts, have literally made the world a better place. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Alternatives to McDonalds!!!!!

There are a number of Black Restaurants in Philadelphia that serve as an alternative to the stuff that is passing as food at McDonald's.  As you know, I am working with the MOVE organization to BOYCOTT McDonald's because of the poor quality food they have and the FACT that much of their food can be traced back to the health problems and physical ailments we have as Black and otherwise {formerly}oppressed people.  Such ailments as heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, diabetes, and joint ailments are linked to the food we eat that is not good for us. [See Reference to the nutrition article under What Up McDonald's]...

One restaurant I like and that has very good food is Baltimore Crab and Seafood at 4800 Spruce Street [48th and Spruce on the South West Corner in West Philadelphia].  They have VERY GOOD flounder; very good string beans and very good steamed vegetables and fresh salads.  They take a few moments longer than some of the other restaurants, but what are we always in such a rush for anyway? Believe me, I hope you will try Baltimore Crab and Seafood.  They once gave a donation for a Black party I was having when I was the Block Captain of the 4600 Block of Sansom Street and I have never forgotten them for that.  THEY DIDN'T CHARGE US A THING.  They are real community supporters and always meet us with a smile.  During these hard economic times, we have to really support our Black businesses and this is a good one. Prices for platters range from $24.00 on the high side to $4.50 on the low side. Stop on by and give them a try.  You can order ahead of time at: 1.215.472.7040.  Open Mon through Thu. from Noon to 11 P.M.; Friday and Saturday from Noon to 12 Midnight; and 2 to 10 P.M. on Sunday.
As I have said in other articles: Family Variety and Deli at 310 South 52nd Street, is a delicious alternative to McDonald's.  Their food is fresh, well prepared and they do NOT sell any pork, which The Nation has been telling us for decades is eroding the health and strength of our community.  Family Variety and Deli sells great dinners on Fridays and Saturdays; as well as great sandwiches [You can get rye or wheat bread if you don't want the traditional hoggie rolls which are NOT good for health].  I often go to Family Variety and Deli and I find the ladies and gentlemen who work there to be kind, courteous, friendly and helpful.  I STRONGLY recommend you support them.

Another Restaurant I visited in Upper Darby is Tim's Roti Shop/Restaurant [Phone] 484-461-3080
They have Jamaican / African cuisine and I had some and it is quite tasty.  This place makes a nice divergence from the McDonald's right down the street, which has the same old dried out hamburgers; fattening fish o fillets; and sugary sodas, shakes and greasy fries... What Tim's has is jerk chicken [Nice and spicy and quite good; delicious beans and rice; good fish and veggies without meat in them such as collard greens and cabbage. Enjoy!!! They are available for catering as well.....

Church Service at Unity Fellowship Christ Church of Philadelphia.....

I attend The Unity Fellowship Christ Church of Philadelphi at 55 North Broad Street.  It is a church that caters ALL of Philadelphia.  The core membership is mostly Black and Same Gender Loving {Or Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual or Transgendered}..  We have church every Sunday at 2 P.M. and our service usually lasts until about 4:30 P.M. I hope you will give us a chance, no matter if you are Black, Latin, Asian of White, Straight or Gay or whatever you are.  I have found the church to be a very friendly, positive and constructive environment for positive-thinking people who want to get ahead and move forward with changing their lives in a positive way.  We don't let anything hold us back and we rely on each other for support.   We also have Bible Study on Wednesday at 7 P.M. at the Christian Association at 37th and Chestnut Street.  We have a lively and open discussion, not only about the Bible, but about many aspects of religion and Spirituality.  I have learned a great deal from our Minister Bryan, who is young but quite knowledgable, positive-thinking and Spirited.  I love the men and women and transgendered people of our church and Bible Study.  We are ALL learning and we refuse to be put down for what we are.  We continue to do what we feel is GOD's work. I hope to see you at our service and our Bible Study.  We are creating a positive atmosphere for ourselves and others who have been put down by our society.  We feel we are the rejected stones who will one day be the first people and accepted. GOD Bless you... Our Head Pastor is Victoria Skeet and our Founding Pastor is Pastor Jeffrey Haskins....I have come to grow with, love and respect so many people at our church that I cannot even mention ALL of them. Come and worship with us and learn that we are proud and that we don't have two heads and that we don't bite.  GOD Bless you again.....

Black Soap Available.....

There are a variety of Black soaps available at 52nd and Sansom Street, the South West Corner.  They are very nice soaps and include many scents and types.  One of the Companies is BlackSoap.Com.  They make Egyptian Musk; another is Nubian Heritage, they make Lemon Grass And Tea Tree Soap and many other varieties.  I have used these products myself and I have found them to be very refreshing and to not leave a dry feeling like many traditional soaps have.  They are available for about $2.50 a bar. I hope you will try them out and check out the store at 52nd and Sansom Street....

One variety I especially like is called coconut and papaya soap with vanilla beans.. it is advertised as an anti-aging, brightening and firming soap and has an awesome smell.  it also lathers well and really leaves the skin nice. it is also by Nubian Heritage... and would make a great Kwanzaa gift.

Another company is Blacksoap.com.  They have a Black soap, which I believe I have tried before and is quite nice. I'll try it again and let you know. There multi vitamin Soap ha a fantastic smell.  After I try it I will let you know how nice it is....

Dear Friends and Countrymen.... A Matter of Race.....

Dear Friends and Countrymen:

many people think I deeply hate and resent White People. Nothing could be further from the truth.

You see, it is Racism, White Supremacy, Racial Hatred, Discrimination and Racial Bullying I hate and have dedicated Most of my life's work to reconciling and alleviating, NOT White people as a group of human beings. And yes, I do think they are Human Beings.  There are a few Devils in every race...

There are concrete differences between the races.  White people, as a group, have been exploiters and the ones who control the reigns of power.  They have set the standards as to how social orders, social constructs and large societies in Modern Times, are to be formulated and run and they have NOT fully shared this power--even Obama really answers to them.... Don't kid yourself... They have often left people of color--NON-Whites--and especially Black people--out of this Matrix of control, power and domination. {Google or look up books by Professor Malefi Asanti}they have NOT allowed us, as Black people to determine for ourselves what will be taught in our own schools, what curriculums will be or what will be included in the make-up and study of entire schools of thought such as: chemistry, anthropology, mathematics, journalism, history, philosophy, engineering, and medicine.  So, because of this, our being excluded from the make up of study itself has been corrupted and currupting the entire system of higher education and our whole political system. And our Blacks who study have found themselves outside of the loop at many of our Nation's leading universities.  Black students have often had to struggle to find roots and shoots of sanity, cohesiveness and coherence  when they study subjects that seem ``foreign'' to them because of the White exclusivity of those subjects.  This has led to the alienation of Black would-be students from the established classroom setting.

But there have also been White People who have sounded the drum and alarm with thousands of Black People who have demanded Racial inclusion, affirmative action and the inclusion of many more Black scholars, thinkers, visionaries and Black scholarly research into the establishment and the make up of schools of thought that generate school curriculum at every level from kindergarten to Post Doctoral work.

There have also been White Abolitionists who have championed the causes of anti-slavery action over the years.  For example, The Quaker Movement was largely White Led, but almost always against slavery; there have also been individuals who were against slavery and for the rights of Blacks attaining full citizenship rights and other rights including: Daniel Walker; William Lloyd Garrison; and Lysander Spooner, to name a few.  There have also been fighters and writers like writer Noarm Chomsky and some of the White leaders who took up many of our causes such as those who write for the Nation Magazine; the Mother Jones Magazine and members of the Worker's World Party.  These people have been helpful in our quest as Black Diaspora to find true and lasting peace, true justice and true equality.  THey broke the color barrior and fought for true justice across the color line.  Not an easy thing to do in a racist society like the one we live in. I cannot turn my back and fail to recognize their hard work, dedication and the honor they have earned

Just today in church there was a White friend of mine who stood up for Black people.  His first name is Sean.  I hope I have  embarrassed him by mentioning his name, but I have often found his words and dialogue to be authentic and real.

He attended our church, which in itself is a Blessing and a miracle because our church is mostly Black and mostly made up of members of the Black Same Gender Loving Community. He is White and straight and still finds his Way to worship with us often.  This is the sign, to me, of what the true spirit of North America is all about--not racial hatred wrapped in religion or homophobic hatred wrapped in religion.

Not only does Sean worship with people UN-like himself, he is becoming a leader in the church and has studied Eastern Religious Philosophy {Budism}which he is willing to share with us in His Special Way.  He is a gem and a stellar human being who I have come to cherish as a friend and Allie.  His cultural heritage and skin color and his sexual orientation are second nature to me because he authentically wants to see ALL people, including Black people, do well, prosper and flourish.

So, the old adage that Brother Tracy is just another racist or Black Radical or Black Nationalist needs to be put to rest forever.  I have an open mind and I love all kinds of people.  My church, the Unity Fellowship Christ Church of Philadelphia, at 55 North Broad Street, in Philadelphia is a real oasis for me.  AN Oasis of LOVe, devotion, hope, caring, fellowship, believing truly in GOD and having the faith {of a Mustard Seed and more}  to think everyday that things may well get better. We are seeking a new Church home, but right now we may have to stay where we are for a while.  Maybe a true blessing will come along soon. GOD BLESS YOU for reading this..........

Black Owned and Opperated: Family Variety And Deli.....

There is a small Deli on 52nd Street near Larch Wood, right across the street from the Old Black Oak Park {Now refurbished and called Malcolm X Park}. The Deli is called Family Variety and Deli. It is totally Black Owned and Operated.  They have a variety of sandwiches and platters. The platters are sold mostly on Friday's after about 3 P.M.  The food is quite tasty and healthy.  I always enjoy the food when I get there.  It is a total take-out place, but their Chicken Stakes are really good, but I especially like the Navy Bean Soup that they sell beginning in September.  Sometimes there is a line for that alone.  It rivals the Navy Bean Soup that they used to sell at the Patterson's Restaurant on 5th and Spring Garden that I used to take my now deceased mother to.  I'm talking about really, really good soup.  The old Patterson's Restaurant is now closed, but I have heard it might open again near Broad and Girard.  The one on 5th and Spring Garden burned down years ago.  It is a good thing to find a few Black restaurants to go to consistently that you really like.

Dear Mr. Buffett:

I hope you and your family are doing fine and well. I want to make some suggestions for your corporation and you to invest in.  My Corporation is called ``Brother Tracy Gibson and Associates, INc.'' There are four components I am interested in getting funding for.  1} I have two books I Really, Really want to publish. The first book is entitled:  ``A Grassroots Criteria for Liberation.'' This volume is dedicated to Black youth and there issues. This first volume is designed and told by telling my own personal story and interjecting political analysis and old family stories with life-lessons, celebrity profiles and reviews of artistic events included. I need $20,000.00 to get this book published. The second volume is entitled: ``Let the Children Gather--A Fantasy World of Real Life Poems.'' It is a book of poetry that reflects the high level of anger and resentment that is ramped among Black male youth at being blocked out of the economic and financial progress they see going on in their community and at seeing what little progress they are allowed to make often be suppressed, stolen or ignored. We need $50,000.00 in seed money for our security firm to be centered and headquartered in Philadelphia.  We plan to hire former police officers, firemen and fire women, veterans coming back from the two wars our Nation has been involved in and young people who desperately need full-time and part-time employment in the Philadelphia region. We will have training in Philadelphia and a full building for our headquarters. 3} Another aspect of our corporation is called ``The Knowledge Hut Business Plan and The Knowledge Hut On-Line Store.'' This store will provide CD's, DVD's Movies, Tee-Shirts, Greeting Cards, Posters, Books and a few light and healthy snack foods for young people to purchase and for their parents and guardians to buy for them and sometimes, to enjoy for themselves. Grandchildren, nieces, youth, children and nephews will find delight in the products and will also be gaining an education in the strong values and ethics that are so lacking in our communities.  The ONLY Products to be sold in our stores will be those products that uphold high community standards; represent positive social values and positive knowledge and understanding on complex political issues. The products will not just be thrown at our young customers, our parents and grand parents and guardians, but will be specifically selected to build, again, positive values in our people's youths such as responsibility, reliability, punctuality, obeying the law, business ethics, not to bully or smoke, how to start businesses in a hostile and tough economy, and how to negotiate out of problems instead of using violence, intimidation and coercion to solve problems--a lesson our own national government could use to learn.  Many of the products we are planning to sell, we want to produce at our own factory and hire some of the youth to get paid good living wages for their efforts.  {We are starting as a on-line store to avoid the tremendous cost of building a modern, state of the art, Green factory right in North or West Philadelphia at first.} We did test marketing of greeting cards and Tee-Shirts from April 2006 to September of 2007 at 3819 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, Penn 19104, when we had an office here in Philadelphia's Powelton Village Section. We will be Progressive and stress education and knowledge building in every aspect of what we do.  Our Books will not be selected to titillate and sexually excite {such books will not be sold by us}, but our Books will be selected to educate, inform, build self-help and self survival skills as well as build self-esteem, self-respect, family values and other positive traits for the Black Family to build from.  They will also help stimulate intellectual growth while helping develop good study habits, good hygiene and neighbor-building skills as our young people learn how to get along with other races, other religions and other types of people who are different from them.  We are seeking $300,000.00 for ``The Knowledge Hut Business Plan'' and ``The Knowledge Hut Stores.'' 4} Another component we are planning is our Talent Agency--NOT YET NAMED...  I remember once taking a tenant {I have been a Landlord and property owner and property manager for 28 years}. I took a tenant to try-out for an International Star-Search Program and fund a line wrapped around the Hotel on City Line Avenue for 4 blocks!! I have people in my church and in the Black community who want to partner with me for this aspects of the business.  My church's name is The Unity Fellowship Christ Church of Philadelphia, which is part of a network of some 30 churches across the country. I have family members who work in the entertainment business who I am sure will also help with consulting on this matter.

That is it in a nutshell.  I hope you can help. I have some 35 years of dedicated work behind me as a community organizer and a community activist. {Please see my Resume enclosed or on the Blog--``The Politics of Real''

My Corporate EIN number is 27-0145705

I have contacted several Black Celebrities about my ideas including: Vogue Magazine Editor Andre Leon Talley; Muhammad Ali; Mr. Quintin E. Primo III; Mr. Magic Johnson; Pattie La Bell; Common; Queen Latifa; Bill Cosby; Oprah Winfrey {who I have written about 30 times!!}; Quincy Jones; Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney; Vanessa Williams {The former Ms. America};Will Smith and Jada Pickett Smith; Sidney Portier and Harry Belifonte. I hope you will give me a chance, because what I want to do will work towards the betterment of our entire country in the long run, as our Black youth stop being seen as a ``problem'' and start to live active, productive, viable and productive lives.

Post Script: If I had $20,000. I couold change the world for the good in a matter of six months.....!!!

We Have Adjusted to Insanity.....

Many people believe that because I have a background of mental illness that I should not be listened to and that I should be put on the back shelf and ignored.  Some of these same people call themselves my friends.  Most of them don't like me or truly hate me. Most people who truly hate me really hate something deep inside themselves or want to keep up a social atmosphere and a society that continues to be a hoax, a fallacy, a fantasy {and usually NOT a good one}, and a society that really shows little  reality about itself.  But the Reality is coming out.

Instead of judging me as an insane person, pay close attention to what and who your children are watching on tv.  If it continues to be little wayne and a host of other popular celebrities from the so-called hip hop era that is where the insanity exists in your child's life.  I have a path back to sanity.

The fact that I am overweight and a homosexual make the matrix that makes up what I am even that much more difficult to fully accept and understand let alone follow as a political perspective...

I have written extensively about my sexuality and have been open to criticism and comment. I only ask to be treated with respect and dignity and I promise to respond in kind. I love all kinds of people and I want what I have to say to reach ears and minds in Egypt, Asia, Indonesia, Africa The Middle East, North America, South America, Brazil and South Africa, Russia, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Venezuela, Panama and Benin. I especially love my people--Black people--because we have suffered for generation after generation and there is always an excuse from the power structure and, frankly, us, as to why we are not free.  {See article on Self-love on my Blog--The Power of Being Black and Loving It...}

I want to be an international leader because I feel what I have to say is very, very important....

But the more I learn about life in general and particularly life in North America the more I have come to realize that we have adjusted to a real form and level of insanity here in the states. We have come, as Black and other Non-White communities, to accept our oppression and even relish in it.  Every time we shop at Wal-Mart or when we buy Exxon gas, or buy Brawnie Paper Towels, or support AT&T we are sticking the knife of oppression in our own back and helping our oppressor to twist it, turn it and stick in in further...
{Let me give some information and background here: Brawnie Paper Towels is owned by the Koch Brother, a couple of White Billionaires {blood Brothers} who donate extensively to the Tea Party and a host of other Conservative and radical right wing causes; AT&T has also contributed extensively to the Tea Party; Exxon has show flagrant disregard for our environment and has their CEO paid millions when the price of gasoline is artificially inflated on the world market.  They also pay very little in taxes to the U.S. government's IRS. Wal-Mart is the King of Bad Union relations and Bad Employee relations.  They had an enormous law suite against them that pertained to their corporate treatment and failure to properly promote women in the workplace.}

We eat fast foot that is killing us and because it is advertised on TV we readily accept it and consume it.  The level of salt, fat and sugar we get from a super-sized meal from McDonald's is enough, if eaten regularly, to kill a full-sized APE over time.  Yet we eat it and ask no questions. Then we look shocked when we go to the doctor and find out we have cancer, high-blood pressure, sugar diabetes, heart ailments, swollen ankles, swollen joints, insomnia, head aches and a variety of other ailments that come with the sodas we drink and the so-called food we eat at McDonald's.

There have been two or three generations of Black men who have spoken out about our diets before starting with Elijah Muhammad's ``How to Eat to Live; and books by Dick Gregory such as ``Dick Gregory's Natural Diet for Folk Who Eat: Cookin' With Mother Nature,'' by Dick Gregory and James R. McGraw {1974}; and books by Gary Null such as: ``Get Healthy Now! A Complete Guide to Prevention, Treatment and Healthy Living,'' by Gary Null and Amy McDonald.; also by Gary Null: ``The Joy of Juicing: Creative Cooking with Your Juicer: Completely Revised and Updated,'' by Ph D. Gary Null and Shelly Null. We listened for a few years, but with the tumultuous and pervasive avalanche of TV advertising {by some informed estimates a Billion Dollars a year for McDonald's alone} our heads are turned and like programmed and controlled robots we follow along and don't think for ourselves, ask questions and make informed and smart decisions. We have been fooled into believing that we must follow along and follow orders, like the Nazi's did. You see where that got us? We must start thinking for ourselves.

Yes, I was hospitalized about seven times for anger, depression and nervous upsets {much of it job related during my tenure at TV Guide Magazine} but I have largely pulled away from and conquered what was illing me and have been on a long, long journey to heal myself and live a better life. It has required me to do without sex for two years; it has required that I pull away from the TV; it has required that I totally change what I eat; it has required that I go for walks, sometimes long walks; It has required that I go to the Library and do the necessary research and read and study and write.  But I am living in more reality than MOST North Americans, although I still have my fantasy moments and must keep in the correct path as I go along in this life....
This has all been part of pulling myself out of the insanity that our society has us addicted to and, sadly, adjusted to. We live in a society controlled mostly by an insane, out of control corporate sector and a Government that provides almost full cover for them on the local, state and Federal level.  It is a picture we have to step out of to fully see, understand and appreciate.
The movies we watch are filled with violence; the best-selling books we read do very little to instill better higher values; and we eat foods at expensive restaurants that does little to nothing to build up our health and endurance.
Guns are freely available and gun play on TV and in movies is widely accepted as entertainment. When will it end? When we decide enough is enough and take control of ourselves, our minds, and our families.  That is when it will end.
Just like we don't have to accept the heroin or cocaine that has for too many of our Brothers and Sisters corrupted and abused them, we don't have to lay still and accept putting sugary sodas in our veins and the fat around our hearts that comes with the quarter pound er with cheese.
{See ``Getting Help'' On the Blog if you need to talk to someone or are getting angry about reading my interpretation of the truth.
The way I see things is just that--the way I see things.  Your reality may, in fact, be something completely different.  However, I should note that I have been in therapy for years and have had my perceptions of what is really real totally revamped, while many others have not.  The World View I have is different from the regular North American who is more satisfied with being a consumer and making it paycheck to paycheck.

What I Will Say As Good News at Church on Sunday, August 12th, 2012 during 2 P.M. Eastern Time Service

For Good News.....

My Good News is about being told the wrong things by a well-intended and well-meaning close friend.  They said ``we'' should be more Humble, well I ask if Black People ever got anywhere good by being Humble or Did we get somewhere good by when we got educated and got militant and got out in the streets and took control or our destiny {Politically and economically}...

The well-meaning voice also told me we would be tried for what we have done.  Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I know for me, I always expect unjustified and illegal retribution from the state as I have dedicated my life and time to the Liberation and Betterment of Myself and My People.  That, Like What's on CNN, is NOT NEWS!!!

Through Brother Tracy C. Gibson,

Given As Good News at Church--The Unity Fellowship Christ Church of Philadelphia--on Sunday the 12th, 2012, Located at 55 North Broad Street.  {Service is at 2 P.M. Eastern Time on Sunday}

Peace -- LOVe -- and Faith...

Many heart ailments, joint ailments and other physical problems, such as liver disease, high-blood pressure, heart attacks and stroke and Diabetes can be traced directly back to consumption of such foods as those listed above. Listen to what the First Lady--Mrs. Michelle Obama--has to say about diet / nutrition / and obesity. Read the book: ``How to Eat to Live,'' by The Honorable Elijah Muhammad; and look for books by Gary Null and Dick Gregory {``Dick Gregory's Natural Diet For Folks Who Eat: Cookin With Mother Nature,'' by Dick Gregory and James R. It is by Bob Greene and Ann Kearney-Cooke, Ph.D.; and Janis Jibrin, M.S., R.D. It is available at the Penn Bookstore on the Penn Campus in West Philadelphia at 36th and Walnut Street and other fine bookstores.

The following is an excerpt from Mr. Bob Greene's ``The Life You Want,'' Mr. Greene says that some of the Major problems in life that cause over eating are: ``1] Family Conflicts; 2] Work and School conflicts; 3] Toxic Relationships; 4] Money Worries; 5] Health Issues (including an unhealthy lifestyle}; 6] Unresolved Loss/ Grief;'' He also has a great section about When Food Replaces Love, which I am convinced that many Black women and Black men suffer from in great numbers.

Some of Gary Null's Books are ``The Joy of Juicing: Creative Cooking with Your Juicer; Completely Revised and UpDated''. By Gary Null and Shelly Null.

Join me in April, 2013 in joining and attending a local gym and getting a gym membership. Plan to get back in shape. It is never too late {I'm 56 and have NOT given up!!}  Plan to go twice a week and build up to three times a week over a six or seven week period. ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING AN EXERCISE REGIMENT OR PROGRAM.  Start changing your diet through a slow process over time. Please Don't try to make drastic changes all at once, you will lose interests when you don't get the weight loss and energy results you want and give up...  Take your time and stay with it. I have had weeks when I didn't lose any weight and weeks when I put weight back on, but I've lost 35 pounds over a year!!!!! Plan out how much weight you want to lose over about a five month period.  Keep records on weight so you can look back at your progress...

There is also A Black-owned Restaurant at 4505 Baltimore Avenue  in West Philadelphia. I always forget the name, but there food is quite good.  They serve fish if you want that. they also serve a variety of vegetarian foods and that are quite good. {They recently catered an event for me and everybody loved the food...}

TO: The Writers of the World...

You have been entrusted with awesome power because what you write each day as a group of people influences and formulates {and can change} the thinking and activities of just about everyone on the planet and on a daily basis..  This is an awesome responsibility and must be handled in a serious and thoughtful manner.  Please DON'T take what you do likely or in a non-serious manner.

When you write, write with integrity, dignity, accuracy, thoughtfulness, and PRIDE. Write to inform before you write to destroy or unduly influence.  Write to tell the truth.  Write to enlighten.  Write to enlighten and educate.  Even if you have strong opinions--as I do--remember to mention the opposing points of view. DO YOUR RESEARCH.  Write with love in your heart and don't forget that Truth and Light will always be better than even advocacy.

Building A Strong Relationship.

There are any number of things one can do to increase the chances of your meeting ``That certain Someone'' in a matter of a short six months to a year and a half. They are:

* Ask yourself honestly if you are really, really ready for a serious relationship.  Have You:

* Done the real and serious self work on yourself that will dramatically increase your chances of meeting and maintaining a relationship with ``That Certain Someone SPecial''?

* Have you decreased the stress in your life and made time for ``That Certain Someone SPecial'' ?

* Have you lost weight and permanently improved on your eating habits so you can keep the weight off such as: stopped eating beef and pork; cut out or reduced other unhealthy fats; increased walks and exercise; increased on eating fruits and vegetables; stopped heavy fattening deserts such as cake and ice cream; decided how much weight you want to lose and got on a regiment; read books about staying fit mentally and physically; joined a gym.

* Have you improved your professional credentials ion a field you have a true passion for? You would be surprised how many relationships flourish in classrooms when two people with similar professional interests take the same class towards a professional degree.
